(CNN) On Saturday, a new set of rules governing how most real estate professionals do business in the US officially take effect — and the changes could potentially upend how Americans buy and sell homes.

One coastal resort in Malaga province has registered an increase in the price per square metre of more than 13% in the last 12 months. Malaga is the province where property prices along the entire Spanish coastline have risen the most, latest data shows. At the end of the first quarter of 2024, the square metre price stood at 2,289 euros, an increase of 9.3% compared to the same time a year earlier, according to Tinsa's most recent property valuation report. The company is a leader in real estate valuations in Spain.

In April 2024, residential properties for sale in Andalucia region had an average price of €2,220 per square meter, with an increase of 19.29% compared to April 2023 (€1,861/m²). The month in which the average price was lowest was June 2022: for a property for sale the average price was €1,783 per square meter.

I do not recall the first time I heard about Camino de Santiago. It may have been from the movie “The Way”, starred by Martin Sheen. All I know is that it has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember.
