My Journey to Santiago de Compostela Part XXIII
Watching the sun rise over Hospital de Órbigo was a treat. I waited at the bridge to greet Lindsay who had spent the night in San Martin del Camino. Tomoko passed by while I waited and we greeted each other like old friends that we had become. Lindsay and I started to walk together until at some point we parted ways to give each other space to reflect on our own. That is when I met YuCai Huang and his wife then Art, Kim and Peter. When I reached Astorga, I met with Morris, a guy from Utah who was sitting on the side of the road massaging his hurt ankle. He declined my assistance so I kept walking to enter the city.
I checked in my hotel there and after I did my laundry, I met with Art, Kim and Peter for drinks and dinner. I also had time to do some sightseeing. Astorga is a beautiful little town with a couple of wonderful churches and a castle designed by Gaudi. After Leon, this was definitely my favorite city in Castilla y Leon.
