My Journey to Santiago de Compostela Part XXXIV
Today, we just took it easy, having breakfast with Bernardo then leaving at 9:00 am to Lago. We were back to challenging hills again on our way to Mount Aro and thank God, my ankle pain was over. Lago is on the top of a mountain with a fantastic view of a lake, thus its name. We checked in at Albergue Monte Aro and our host Tania took real good care of us. The albergue is the best and most modern that I spent the night in. Dinner was also the most delicious I have had on the Camino.
Tania’s dog named Lua was pregnant and was almost killed by two wolves in the forest close by where she lives. She was walking by the tractor with Tania’s father when two wolves came out from the forest and one of them grabbed her by the tail with his teeth and sent her flying in the air. The farmer was able to save her from the attack miraculously. The vet says she and the babies will be ok. Last year she had ten puppies and may again have that many.
At the time I write the story, Tania, with whom I have kept in touch via Whatsapp, told me that Lua had nine healthy puppies. Tania was also expecting when I met her and she gave birth to a boy, Xoel in December.
